BlindClock — Privacy Policy
BlindClock (the “App”) is a poker tournament blind timer for iPhone and iPad, published by globetrotter-studio (“we”, “us”). We built BlindClock to be useful without being nosy. This policy explains exactly what limited data the App handles, and — just as importantly — what it does not.
The short version
- No account, no sign-in, no personal details required.
- Your tournament templates and settings stay on your device (and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud account).
- We use one privacy-friendly analytics provider (TelemetryDeck) to collect anonymous usage statistics.
- No advertising. No cross-app tracking. No selling or renting of data. No IDFA.
1. Information stored on your device
The tournaments you build — blind levels, breaks, time-bank settings, sound and screen preferences — are stored locally on your device only, using Apple’s on-device storage. This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it is removed when you delete the App.
If your device is signed in to iCloud, your tournament templates are also synced through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so they appear on your other devices. This data belongs to your Apple Account; we have no access to it, and it is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can stop syncing by signing out of iCloud or disabling iCloud Drive for the App.
2. Analytics data we collect
To understand how BlindClock is used and to improve it, the App sends anonymous usage analytics through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. The data collected is limited to:
- A non-identifying device identifier — a one-way hashed value used to count unique installations and sessions. It cannot be reversed to identify you, and it is not your Apple ID, phone number, or advertising identifier.
- Product interaction / usage events — for example: launching the App, starting or finishing a tournament, creating, editing or deleting a tournament template, reaching the free template limit, or viewing the upgrade screen.
- Basic technical context — such as App version, iOS version, device model, language/region setting, and screen size.
This data is used solely for analytics (understanding usage and improving the App). It is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you.
3. What we do not collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- No contacts, photos, calendars, or files.
- No precise location or GPS data.
- No payment or financial information — purchases of BlindClock Pro are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) and no advertising of any kind.
- No tracking of you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We never sell, rent, or trade your data.
4. Our analytics provider
Analytics are processed on our behalf by TelemetryDeck GmbH (Germany), acting as our data processor. TelemetryDeck is designed for privacy: it does not build advertising profiles, does not perform fingerprinting or cross-company tracking, and processes data on servers in the European Union. You can read their privacy practices at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
5. App Tracking Transparency
Because BlindClock does not track you across apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier, the App does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
6. Data retention
The anonymous analytics described above are retained by TelemetryDeck in aggregated form in accordance with their data-retention practices. Because the data is not linked to your identity, it cannot be tied back to you individually.
7. Children’s privacy
BlindClock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will address it.
8. Your choices and rights
You can stop all analytics collection at any time by deleting the App from your device. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (for example, to access or delete personal data). Because our analytics are anonymous and not linked to your identity, we generally cannot single out an individual’s data — but if you have any questions or requests, please reach out using the contact details below.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
